The Mangrove Info Center offers three tours: a one-hour kayak, a two-hour kayak with snorkel, and a one-hour solar boat tour.

The One-Hour Kayak Tour: Meet at the Mangrove Info Center at the scheduled departure time. Participants will receive a short briefing on what they can bring into the mangrove habitat, and then receive an orientation about the area and the importance of the mangroves. After this, participants will spend one hour on the water. This tour provides an introduction to the mangrove habitat and covers a small part of the zone. The guide paddles at an unhurried pace and will make several stops to show and explain the habitat. Plan for a total time of 1-1/2 hours, including orientation, tour on the water, and return to the Mangrove Info Center.

The Two-Hour Kayak Tour with Snorkel: Meet at the Mangrove Info Center at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Participants will receive a short briefing on what they can bring into the mangrove habitat, and then receive an orientation about the area and the importance of the mangroves. After this, they will spend two hours on the water. The guide paddles at an unhurried pace and will make several stops to show and explain the habitat. The two-hour tour covers a large area of the green zone. Half-way through, the kayaks will be tethered together, and participants can make a snorkel stop in the middle of the mangroves. This snorkel lasts about fifteen minutes, allowing a swim through one of the beautiful canals leading to the biggest interior “lake” of the mangroves, called “Puito” (little chick). After the snorkel, the group will begin their return paddle with the wind at their back, and there is a good opportunity that green sea turtles might be sighted. Plan for a total time of 2-1/2 hours, including orientation, tour on the water, and return to the Mangrove Info Center.

The One-Hour Solar Boat Tour: This tour utilizes a solar boat, which operates quietly on an electric engine running on batteries charged by wind and solar energy. It is an ideal way for those not physically fit enough to kayak to experience the magic of the mangrove habitat. This tour operates with a minimum of four persons and a maximum of eight persons. Your guide will point out areas of interest throughout the tour.
